The St. Croix Rowing Club is offering “Learn to Row” classes in June and July that will introduce adults (18 years and older) to the sport of sculling (rowing in a boat with two oars). No previous rowing experience is required. Classes meet at SCRC’s Boathouse, on the west-end of St. Croix Street in Hudson.
The May 31 and June 21 sessions include 12 hours of on-land and on-water instruction spread over four days. Veteran coach and rowing official, John Cavanaugh will teach the classes along with SCRC volunteer instructors. Graduates of the class will be eligible to become members of SCRC at a discounted rate. The St. Croix Rowing Club provides opportunities for recreational rowing on the St. Croix River as well as competitive rowing in regional regattas.
