St. Patrick School recently held its annual gala and it was the most successful ever. Nearly $83,000 was raised from donations, sponsorships, pledges and through items donated to the silent and live auctions.
Of that amount, $33,000 was raised specifically for new technology.
The $33,000 will fund one iPod cart for the elementary wing and one iPod cart for the middle school wing of the school. Each cart contains 20 iPods. Using iTunes U and iBooks Author applications, teachers will be able to customize curriculum for each grade level and subject, then use the iPads to put that technology into their student’s hands.
The theme for this year’s gala was “Old Hollywood” and parents and friends of St. Patrick School enjoyed a wonderful evening of fellowship and fun at the Kilkarney Hills Golf Club.
