The village of North Hudson centennial celebration last Sunday attracted a large crowd of people and provided an afternoon of entertainment, food, fun and memories.

During the afternoon, the crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to the village and guests were treated to birthday cake.

Incorporated in 1912 and located on the 45th parallel along the lower St. Croix National Wild and Scenic Riverway, the village of North Hudson has a rich past spanning logging, railroad and tourism history.

Village President George Klein kept the afternoon’s activities rolling. Klein arrived, dressed in early 1900s clothes, in a 1950 police car – complete with siren and all.

The North Hudson Centennial Committee members were: George Klein (village president), Mona Houston (committee chair), Deb Copeland, Ryan Nelson, Colleen O’Brien Berglund, Diane Ruona, Barabara Smrdel and Mary Wekkin.
