No matter how long you’ve been in the NFL, you’ll always get an initiation when you go to a new team.

Green Bay Packers center Jeff Saturday got his Thursday, the final day of the team’s mini-camp.

Guard Evan-Dietrich Smith changed the name on his jersey to “Friday,” and guard Josh Sitton changed his name to “Sunday.” When they lined up on the field, the quarterback saw the names Friday, Saturday and Sunday from left to right in front of him.

It was Sitton’s idea. Dietrich-Smith said Saturday didn’t even notice it until three-fourths of the practice was done.

Saturday joined the Packers as a free agent after 13 years with the Indianapolis Colts. The Packers are now off until training camp.

Players will report on July 25. Their first practice will be on July 26 – a Thursday, not a Saturday.
