REGULAR MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
MAY 30, 2012 - MINUTES
Meeting called to order by Mayor Alan Burchill in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 7:00 p.m. Mayor Burchill led those present in the pledge of allegiance.
PRESENT: Mayor Burchill and Alderpersons Randy Morrissette, Mary Yacoub, Lori Bernard, Kurt TeWinkel, John Hoggatt and Rich Vanselow.
CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS: MOTION by Morrissette, second by Bernard to approve the following consent agenda items:
The Regular Meeting minutes of 5/15/12.
Claims for payment of $145,622.37 for payables and $144,292.86 for payroll for a total of $289,915.23.
Issuance of an Amusement Device Owner’s License to William A. Lethert d/b/a Mendota Valley Amusement, Inc., and issuance of permits for 27 amusement device machines.
Issuance of an Amusement Device Owner’s License to Scott J. Furlong d/b/a Leisure Entertainment TW LLC, and issuance of permits for 5 amusement device machines.
The Brian Lautenbach Celebrate Life Fun Run at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012, beginning and ending in Weitkamp Park.
The Halos of Hudson 5K Family Fun Day walk event at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2012 in Lakefront Park.
Approve changing the stop sign on Seventh Street at Mallalieu Drive to a “Blind Intersection” sign.
Place on file the quarterly reports of the Library Director and Water Utility Director, and the monthly report of the Finance Officer.

Morrissette recused himself. MOTION by Yacoub, second by Hoggatt to approve the issuance of Regular Operator’s licenses for the period 5/31/12 to June 30, 2013 to: Lisa M. MOTION by Yacoub, second by Hoggatt to approve the renewal and issuance of Regular Operator’s Licenses for the period 7/1/12 to 6/30/14 to: Brittany D. Anderson, 412 Second St., Hudson; Sarah A. Bruch, 645 Cherry Hill Lane, Hudson; Bethany R. Lindberg, 703 Garfield St., Cloquet, MN; David E. McGinley, 1603 Aldrich Ave., Hudson; Rose M. Minke, 632 Lemon Street N., Hudson; Kristen N. Robey, 262 Jenna Court, River Falls, WI; Erikka J. Schuck, 2133 Thistle Way, Hudson; Wesley R. Welch, 1316 Carriage Dr. #B, Hudson; and Anke Vier, 901 Colonial Dr., Hudson. Ayes (5), MOTION CARRIED.
MOTION by Hoggatt, second by Yacoub, to approve the issuance of Temporary Operator’s license to be used June 29 to July 1, 2012 during Hudson Booster Days to: Darlene J. Huehn, 2403 Oakridge Circle, Hudson; David L. Huehn, 433 Glover Rd., Hudson; James A. Londo, 1722 Laurel Ave., Hudson; Deanna D. Lund, 1157 Highway 63, Baldwin, WI; Gregory A. Mahr, 604 Prairie Drive N., Hudson; Jerry L. McKenzie, 1262 27th St., Hudson and Holly A. Quinn-Marrs, 525 Wisconsin St., Hudson. Ayes (5), MOTION CARRIED.
MOTION by Bernard, second by Yacoub to approve the application of Faith Community Church for a Special Event Permit for June 24, 2012 with the understanding that portable restrooms and trash cans be available on site and the Parks and Public Works Director is consulted regarding placement and that a reduction in the amount of required insurance coverage be granted to the amounts listed on the certificate of insurance they submitted. All ayes (6) MOTION CARRIED.
MOTION by Morrissette, second by Yacoub to approve signing a fire service Mutual Aid Agreement with St. Croix Falls, WI. All ayes (6) MOTION CARRIED.
MOTION by Bernard second by TeWinkel to suspend the rules toward adoption of Resolution No. 9-12. Roll call vote taken all ayes (6), MOTION CARRIED. MOTION by Bernard second by TeWinkel to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 9-12, WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT COMPLIANCE MAINTENANCE ANNUAL REPORT (Copy on file in Clerk’s office). All ayes (6), MOTION CARRIED.
MOTION by Bernard, second by Yacoub to refer the San Pedro’s dumpster agreement to the Public Safety Committee for updating and then bring it back for Council review. All ayes (6) MOTION CARRIED.
MOTION by Yacoub, second by Hoggatt to adjourn the meeting. All ayes (6) MOTION CARRIED at 9:23 p.m.
