Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was selected as the top player in the National Football League in the 2011 season. The vote was conducted by the NFL Network and polled current players.
Rodgers helped lead the Packers to a 15-1 season and was selected the most valuable player in the league.
Rodgers is one of six Packers players to make the players' top 100. Linebacker Clay Matthews (27), cornerback Charles Woodson (36), wide receiver Greg Jennings (56), wide receiver Jordy Nelson (80) and fullback John Kuhn (92) also made the list.
Brewers avoid sweep
The Brewers were able to avoid a sweep in Cincinnati as they knocked off the NL Central leading Reds 8-4 Wednesday afternoon in the series finale.
The crew got two run homers from Rickie Weeks and Cody Ransom. Starting pitcher Zack Greinke improved to 9-2 on the season and remained unbeaten in his career against the Reds.
The Brewers now trail the Reds by 7.5 games in the standings. The Brewers will open up a weekend series with the Arizona Diamondbacks starting Friday.
Bucks trade Leuer
The Milwaukee Bucks have made a trade in advance of Friday night's NBA draft. The Bucks traded the 12th pick in tonight’s draft along with former Wisconsin Badgers star Jon Leuer, Shaun Livingston and John Brockman to the Houston Rockets for the 14th pick and big man Samuel Dalembert.
Dalembert averaged 7.5 points and seven rebounds last season for the Rockets.
