Hudson police are asking the public’s help in finding those responsible for more than 15 incidents of vandalism that were reported overnight on July 3-4 resulting in thousands of dollars of property damage.
According to Det. Sgt. Eric Atkinson, the incidents all involved the spray-painting of cars or walls in the Bieneman Farms development extending to Aspen Drive. Many of the cases reported had the tag “RS 713” painted on the property along with phallic symbols and other profanity.
“Anyone who has information about this vandalism or what RS 713 means should call Det. Jeff Knopps. We would like to determine what, if anything, the tag means,” said Atkinson.
He also asked that anyone who has been a victim of vandalism and not reported it to the HPD do as soon as possible. He explained that the department uses reports to determine their patrols in the city and the assignment of officers to an area of the city and increases the chances of catching those responsible.
“We’re not sure why some people don’t report things like this. They may think it won’t do any good or that we are too busy. But it is in everyone’s best interest to make a report. It helps us get an accurate picture of what is going on and guides the action we take,” said Atkinson.
Contact Det. Knopps at (715) 386-4771.
