Pat Kreitlow, the Democratic candidate for Wisconsin’s 7th District Congressional seat, was joined by former U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold at a private fundraiser in North Hudson Thursday afternoon, July 12.
The open house was hosted by Dick and Janine Zehring, residents of the Starrwood subdivision.
A $50 donation was suggested for individual guests. Other suggested donation levels were $100, $150, $250 and $500.
Kreitlow and Feingold met briefly with a reporter at Hudson Bagel & Coffee in Hudson before going to the fundraiser.
“It’s going wonderfully,” Kreitlow said of his campaign. “We’re getting a tremendous reaction around St. Croix County. As people are finding out they were moved into the 7th District, they are very energized to see that they can make a difference. It’s going to be a very closely competitive Congressional race.”
Feingold said he first met Kreitlow when he was the news anchor for WEAU-TV Channel 13 in Eau Claire. He said Kreitlow is both smart and can connect with people.
Kreitlow will be facing Republican incumbent Rep. Sean Duffy in the November election.
