Shane Michael Kringen, 39, Erskine, Minn., was convicted of reckless endangerment and fleeing an officer July 19 in a plea bargain of a two-year-old case.
The charges stemmed from an Aug. 3, 2010, traffic incident. The criminal complaint said Kringen led deputies on a high-speed chase from Hammond and ended in the town of Hudson. Kringen rammed county squad cars before he fled on foot and was apprehended by a sheriff’s K-9 partner, Ace.
Kringen was also convicted of felony bail jumping from a Jan. 9 incident at the St. Croix County Jail. The sheriff’s report said Kringen forced his way out of a cell, grabbed a jail officer and had him down before other deputies were able to intervene.
All other charges in both cases were dismissed in the plea agreement. A sentencing hearing was set for Sept. 20.
