Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by St. Croix County until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012 in the County Clerk’s office of the Hudson Government Center, 1101 Carmichael Road, Hudson, Wisconsin, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud, for the furnishing of all labor and material for the construction of the following items in the approximate quantities indicated:

Bids shall be on the forms provided for that purpose and according to the Contract Documents prepared by Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. dated August 2, 2012.
The Bidding Documents may be seen at the issuing office of Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. located at 156 High Street, Suite 300, New Richmond, WI, 54016.

Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bid must accompany each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
Bids shall be directed to the County Clerk securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper, “BID FOR PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS, ST. CROIX COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER.”
A pre-Bid conference will be held at the Government Center on Monday, August 13, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. Meet outside the main door to the Government Center on the east side of the building. Representatives of the Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. Bidders are encouraged to attend and participate in the conference. Engineer will transmit to all prospective Bidders of record such addenda as Engineer considers necessary in response to questions arising at the conference. Oral statements may not be relied upon and will not be binding or legally effective.
Low bidder will be required to submit Bidders Proof of Responsibility. Bidders must have at least 5 years of recent experience and must have done 5 jobs of similar size and type within the last 4 years, as well as the foreman overseeing the work.
Contractors on the Project shall be required to comply with the prevailing wage rates as determined by the State of Wisconsin, Department of Workforce Development Wage Rate Determination.
St. Croix County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and to award the Contract in the best interests of the County.
