Amanda Johnson convicted, sister Valerie Bartkey on the lam

One of two sisters charged in the sexual assault of a man last October has been convicted of a lesser crimes and placed in deferred prosecution status on felony charges.

Amanda Lynn Johnson, 18, 122 11th St., Hudson, was convicted of misdemeanor battery and criminal damage Thursday, July 26. She was sentenced to probation for two years, fined $486 and ordered to maintain absolute sobriety.

She entered a differed prosecution agreement on felony charges of false imprisonment, subjecting an individual at risk to abuse and misdemeanor intimidating a victim.

The criminal complaint alleged Johnson and her sister, Valerie Marie Bartkey, 24, Somerset, threatened an 18-year-old man, made him drink urine and pulled his penis with a pliers at a Somerset residence Oct. 1. Original charges were dismissed April 17 and the case was re-filed.

Bartkey failed to make an initial appearance on similar charges July 19 and an arrest warrant was issued.

Johnson was also convicted of misdemeanor disorderly conduct from a May 1 incident in Hudson and was sentenced to probation for two years to be served concurrently with the other convictions and fined $243.

A number of other felony and misdemeanor charges against Johnson from six different cases were dismissed July 26.
