Correction
The correction involves a plea involving a charge against Chad J. Goertzen on Jan. 18, 2012.
In a St. Croix County Circuit Court news item published Jan. 26, 2012, it was reported that Chad J. Goertzen pleaded guilty to a charge of "operating a firearm while intoxicated" on Jan. 18th and was sentenced to 90 days in jail. Goertzen's conviction was actually for being "armed with a firearm while intoxicated". The charges stemmed from Goertzen's arrest following an incident at Ellie’s Bar in downtown Hudson on Sept. 10, 2010.
The Star-Observer regrets the error.
