Hudson gets noticed as tourist destination
Locals already get what is special about the Hudson area but the word is spreading.
Locals already get what is special about the Hudson area but the word is spreading.
The several issues of Minnesota Monthly magazine have promoted Hudson. In their "Stay and Play" regional destinations in the region, Hudson was described this way. "There's a saying that ‘location is everything’ and those who have been to Hudson, Wisconsin would have to agree".
Hudson was also featured in the magazine’s July issue as one of 15
“Summer Drives in the Midwest.” "Nothing beats the heat like rolling down the windows and heading out on the open road. You're with your friends or family and you're probably on vacation, so take your time, see the sights and let the road trip become part of the adventure". And in the August issue it was selected as one of "8 Great Neighborhoods to Discover". Hudson was number five on the list and in the company of Minnesota towns like Stillwater, Excelsior and White Bear Lake. "Hudson is a river town that retains the character and architecture of decades past." Many of Hudson's attractions are noted in addition to the excellent lodging, golf, theater, dining, shopping, state park and the St. Croix River.
Hudson again has great exposure in the Aug./Sept. issue of Spaces magazine. Readers will see a "Stay Awhile in Hudson" invitation to our Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival Sept. 22 and 23.
The April/May issue of Spaces magazine selected Hudson in their feature story "Noon to Three - Shop and Lunch" which included nine pages highlighting Hudson and Hudson businesses.
The Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau will be at the summer’s largest art fair, the Uptown Art Fair, promoting the Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival and tourism in Hudson.
The Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival, Sept. 22-23 in Lakefront Park is one of the venues featured in the 2012 Take Me to the River events, weekends, Sept. 15-16, and Sept. 22-23. According to the Chamber of Commerce, Take Me to the River was the natural outgrowth of the regional arts scene. A group of arts enthusiasts, connected with ArtReach St. Croix, recognized that there were a number of art fairs and festivals on the same weekends. The summer issue of Living and Playing magazine has a feature story on the Take Me to the River arts events.
