The town of St. Joseph dealt with several new issues at its August meetings.
During the recent primary, the Town of St. Joseph tried a different voting area set-up as a test run before the November presidential elections, in which the town is expecting exceptionally high turnout. The change comes in the form of separate lines for sections of the alphabet, instead of one large line. This set up is used is many surrounding communities in both Wisconsin and Minnesota, and the change was made in the hopes that it will reduce the number of people potentially waiting outdoors in the cold of November.
The Town of St. Joseph has launched a newly reworked website at http://www.townofstjoseph.com. The project is still underway, and will, over the coming months, have all previous meeting minutes, upcoming agendas, town notices, as well as a wide range of permit applications. Any questions on the site, or requests from the town clerk can be made at the new email address, firstname.lastname@example.org.
The St. Joseph Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8. This year, the festival will include a wide range of activities starting with the fireman’s pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m., and include, but are not limited to such things as craft sales, bake sales, trolley, pony, and cart rides, a petting zoo, history booth, model rocketry, silent auction, as well as several local vendors and entertainers.
