Police warn public about car break-ins

Valuables left in cars attract thieves

Following a rash of recent car break-ins and thefts, the Hudson Police Department wants to remind residents not to leave any valuables in their vehicles and to always lock the doors.

Chief Marty Jensen said Wednesday that earlier this week there were 20 reports made of cars that had been broken into or where property had been stolen from inside the vehicles. The incidents took place west of 11th Street on Summer and Green streets and Colonial Drive.

“We want to encourage people not to leave anything valuable in their vehicles and to always remove their keys and lock the doors. You would be surprised how many people don’t take these simple precautions,” said Jensen.

Police are investigating the reports but do not have any suspects at this time. Anyone with information should contact police at (715)386-4771.
