Cozy sweaters, vintage-inspired coats, ankle boots, colored denim, and everything that’s fun for fall will be on the runway at Elan’s Fashion Fusion Style Show, Tuesday, Oct. 9, at The Phipps Center for the Arts.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for refreshments provided by The Nova Wine Bar; the fashion show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and the proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society’s “Go Pink for Life” campaign. A special shopping event will be held at Elan following the style show.

“Take the summer brights and tone them down to deep jewel tones -- that’s the palette for fall,” said Sandee Madigan, owner of Elan Boutique and Dilly-Dally in the Alley. “The models, all friends and customers of Elan, will be walking through The Phipps Center for the Arts wearing our new fall fashions. You’ll see colored, printed and textured denim from the new line of Liverpool jeans; short boots with jeans, skirts and dresses; and chunky sweaters accessorized with statement jewelry pieces, scarves, and handbags like Sakroot and Haiku.”

Proceeds will benefit the local “Go Pink for Life” campaign supporting Hudson’s June 2013 Relay For Life event which raises money for cancer research. The organization also provides free services for local cancer patients like wigs, transportation, lodging, and gas cards, said Kellie Burrows, Community Relations Representative for the American Cancer Society in Pierce and St. Croix counties.

“It’s an honor to have local businesses like Elan supporting the local community of cancer patients and their caregivers,” said Burrows. “While most people are aware that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, the money raised through the Go Pink for Life campaign supports these programs for people dealing with all types of cancer.”

Phipps Center Executive Director John H. Potter said “There’s an energy and excitement these events bring and we’re delighted to have Elan and the Fashion Fusion style show back at The Center. We truly think of ourselves as a community center so events like these are welcomed.”

Tickets can be purchased at these Hudson merchant sponsors: Elan clothing boutique (218 Locust St.); Dilly-Dally In the Alley (216 Locust St.); Marnie Marie Photography (214 Locust St.); The Nova Wine Bar (236 Coulee Road); and Diane Olivieri, Personal Trainer at Riverfront Athletic Club (109 Second St.).
