Raiders move past Bay Port in football playoffs

Quarterback Mike Hommes threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for two more as the sixth-ranked Hudson football team swamped Bay Port, 46-14, in a WIAA Level 2 playoff game Friday night, Oct. 26, in Chippewa Falls.
The Raiders, now 10-0 on the season, advanced to face No. 4 ranked Appleton North Saturday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. in Stevens Point. Appleton North defeated Stevens Point, 17-14, in its Level 2 game.
Hommes threw touchdown passes of 62-yards to Chuck Peterson and 16-yards to Alex Herink. He also scored on runs of 3 and 5 yards.
Dan Loughney had touchdown runs of 1 and 22 yards and Alex Burgess blocked a punt on the opening possession of the game and scooped it up for a five-yard touchdown to account for the rest of Hudson’s scoring.
The Raiders improved to 10-0 while Bay Port’s season comes to an end with a record of 8-2.
