Hudson’s Kromer runs to state title
Hudson senior Ryan Kromer outran a field of 190 runners to win the Division 1 state title at the WIAA State Cross Country Championship Meet Saturday, Oct. 27, in Wisconsin Rapids. He completed the 5,000-meter course more than 10 seconds faster than his nearest competitor.
Hudson senior Ryan Kromer outran a field of 190 runners to win the Division 1 state title at the WIAA State Cross Country Championship Meet Saturday, Oct. 27, in Wisconsin Rapids.
Kromer, the lone Raider boy to qualify for the state meet, completed the 5,000 meter course over 10 seconds faster than his nearest competitor. Kromer won with a time of 15 minutes, 27.17 seconds. McKena Roma of Sheboygan South was second in 15:37.42.
River Falls’ junior Trent Powell finished 25th in 16:15.06.
In the Division 1 girls’ 4,000 meter race, River Falls’ sophomore Anne Frisbie placed 9th with a time of 14:38.6. Hudson junior Sadie Kroll took 32nd in 15:19.3 to lead the Raiders to an 11th place team finish.
Arrowhead took the girls’ team title while Madison West was the boys’ team champion.
