The city of Hudson won’t be purchasing any of the former state tourist information property along Interstate 94.
The City Council went into closed session at the end of its Oct. 22 meeting to discuss the possibility, but there was little support for taking the offer from the new owners of the land, Mayor Alan Burchill reported.
A partnership of real estate investors including David Robson and Brian Zeller had offered to sell a portion of the 16.2 acres to the city. Their price was what they paid for the land, plus development costs, according to Burchill.
The city considered buying the property as a site for a new public safety building. There also was talk of making it a park-and-ride lot for a high-speed commuter bus line that is being proposed by the Gateway Corridor Commission.
