HiBA hosts events to promote local shopping

The Hudson Independent Business Association (HiBA) announced a new holiday program title “Have a Local Holiday.”

The program kicks of Saturday, Nov. 3, when HiBA will host a booth in downtown Hudson in front of Lavender Thymes (Second Street Crossing) for the “Holiday Season Kick Off.” Events culminate Saturday, Nov. 24, with “Small Business Saturday.” Both events will include the live broadcast of Thunder Country Radio Station from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 3 and 24

In addition to the live radio broadcast, both Saturday events includes a HiBA table in front of Lavender Thymes and Kelley Gallery Art and Frame where free “Have a Local Holiday” buttons will be distributed to shoppers. The buttons can be used through the holiday season for special promotions in many local stores. HIBA merchants not located downtown will also have booths inside Second Street Crossing on Nov. 3 and 24. The HIBA booth on Second Street will also feature hot chocolate and drawing for eight $25 HIBA dollars.

Most HiBA merchants will be providing treats, in-store drawings and specials to customers wearing the free HiBA button.

Local consumers are encouraged to shop, dine and enjoy the cultural scene in Hudson this Holiday Season. HiBA members include: Art Doyle’s Spokes & Pedals, Chapter2Books, CocoBello, Élan, Et Cetera, Fresh and Natural Foods, Hudson Flower Shop, Knoke’s Chocolates, Lakefront Framing, Lavender Thymes, Micklesen Drug, Pangea International Jewelry & Gifts, Seasons on St. Croix Gallery, Spirit Seller Liquors, Bramer Pain and Muscle Rehabilitative Services, Christiansen Creative, Ellner’s Window Treatments and Custom Closets, First American Bank, Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau, Hudson Star-Observer, Phipps Inn Bed and Breakfast, Wiscota Systems, The Phipps Center for the Arts, Barker’s Bar & Grill, Hudson Bagel and Coffee, Pier 500, San Pedro Café, The Nova, and the Winzer Stube.
