HHS runner Kromer qualifies for national meet

Hudson High School senior Ryan Kromer finished seventh at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships (FLCCC) Midwest Regional last Saturday, Nov. 24 to qualify for the FLCCC National Finals on Saturday, Dec. 8 at Morley Field, Balboa Park in San Diego, Calif.

Kromer, the 2012 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Association (WIAA) Division 1 state cross country champion, covered the 5,000 meter course on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in Kenosha in 15 minutes, 8 seconds to earn the right to compete December 8 against the top ten runners from the Northeast, South and West regionals.

Jake Leingang of Bismarck, N.D. won the Midwest Regional title with a time of 14:56. Kromer is the only Wisconsin runner to qualify for the national meet.
