UPDATE: Authorities identify Hudson woman killed in Minnesota accident

Diane Barrette's vehicle was struck by an oncoming SUV as she attempted to make a U-turn on a busy Anoka County road. The 66-year-old Barrette lived east of Hudson with her husband, Jeffrey.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office has identified the Hudson woman who died in a traffic accident Tuesday afternoon as Diane Walborau Barrette.

The 66-year-old Barrette lived east of Hudson with her husband, Jeffrey.

She was attempting to make a U-turn on Bunker Lake Boulevard at 38th Avenue in Anoka, Minn., when her vehicle was struck by an oncoming SUV driven by a teenage girl, according to the sheriff’s office.

The Barrettes’ home was on the Hudson Women’s Club’s 14th annual Artful Garden Tour last June.

She used to drive school bus for Safeway Bus Co., which serves the Hudson School District.

Commander Paul Sommer of the sheriff’s office said Barrette was alone in her vehicle. He said the road she attempted to make the U-turn on was very busy.
