Hudson High School senior Ryan Kromer picked up his second All-American honor in two weeks at the 34th annual Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals (FLCCC) in San Diego last Saturday.

Kromer finished eighth in the 5,000 meter boy’s race with a time of 15 minutes, 30 seconds earning a spot on the FLCCC All-American second team.

One week earlier, Kromer was named a Nike Cross Nationals second team All-American by finishing ninth in that national race in Portland, Ore. Kromer, the 2012 WIAA State Champion, is the first Wisconsin runner ever to qualify for both races.

The Foot Locker Cross Country Championships is comprised of four regional 5K races, which took place across the country in the Midwest (Kenosha), Northeast (Bronx, N.Y.), and South (Charlotte, N.C.) on Nov. 24, and the West (Walnut, Calif.) on Dec. 1.

The top ten finishers in each regional qualified for the national finals held last Saturday at Morley Field, Balboa Park in San Diego. Kromer qualified by finishing seventh at the Midwest Regional in Kenosha Nov. 24.

Northeast Regional champion Edward Cheserek of Newark, N.J., became the fourth boy to repeat as FLCCC National Champion Saturday in San Diego with a first place time of 14:59.
