Croix Benning Briscoe, infant

Nov. 19, 2012 - Dec. 4, 2012

Croix Benning Briscoe was born Nov. 19, 2012, in Parker, Colo. Named after the beautiful St. Croix River and Valley in which his mother, Darcy, grew up, Croix was a perfect baby boy who was much anticipated and lovingly welcomed by his parents, Mark and Darcy, and big brothers, William and Knox. He was born to his family in Colorado on the very same day as his cousin, Evangelina, who was born miles away in Bayport. Croix's little heart had an undetected problem and stopped beating early on Dec. 4, where he passed away peacefully in his parents' arms. His short life brought tremendous happiness to his family, as he celebrated his first Thanksgiving and was packed along the family's annual Christmas tree cutting trip in the mountains. Croix loved to be held, and spent much time snuggling on his father's chest or cuddled in his mother's arms. He will be deeply missed and his family finds comfort knowing he is now safe in Heaven. They look forward to visiting family in Hudson and Bayport to be reminded of their beautiful son, Croix.

He is survived by his parents, Mark and Darcy (Kobylarczyk) Briscoe of Centennial, Colo.; brothers William and Knox Briscoe; and local family, grandparents Bob and Marguerite Matzek of Hudson; aunts and uncles, Shawn Kobylarczyk of Woodbury, Nikki and Eric Zawislak of Bayport; cousins Gianna, Anabelle, and Evangelina Zawislak of Bayport; among other dear family in Colorado, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

Croix was laid to rest in Greeley, Colo., on Dec. 8. The family sincerely wishes to thank family and friends who have responded to their loss with compassion and love.

"I asked the Lord to give me this boy and he has granted my request. Now I am giving him to the Lord, and he will belong to the Lord his whole life." (NLT) 1 Samuel 1: 27-28.
