Thomas J. Holland, 77

Thomas J. "Tom" Holland, age 77, of Osceola, Wis., and formerly of North Hudson, died suddenly on Wednesday, Dec. 26, at the Osceola Medical Center in Osceola.

Tom was born July 13, 1935, in Dayton, Minn., to parents Joseph and Erma (DeShaw) Holland. Tom graduated from Elk River High School. Tom would be united in marriage to Bernadette Andrzejewski on May 4, 1957, in Arlington, S.D. Their union in marriage would be blessed with six children.

Tom is survived by his children, Debby (Greg) Worrell of Sundance, Wyo., Mark (Deanna) Holland of Cushing, Gregory (Tammy) Holland of Hudson, Dennis (Patty) Holland of Cloquet, Minn., Michael ("Sis") Holland of Roberts, and Melissa Holland of New Richmond; his wife of 4 years, Anne; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; two brothers; three sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Bernadette "Bernie"; his parents; and his brother Michael.

Tom worked for many years as a truck driver, route driver, and milk man. Outside of work, Tom loved to be outdoors, where he enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, and golfing. Tom was also a devoted family man, teaching his kids to ice skate and assisting with Boy Scouts. Tom also gave of his time, volunteering many years with the Hudson Boosters. Tom was a member of St. Patrick's parish for more than 45 years and took care of the parish cemetery for several years. While living in Grantsburg, Tom was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Tom was also a huge Green Bay Packers fan! With that spirit in mind, Tom's family encourages everyone to wear their favorite Packers attire to his visitation.

Visitation for Tom Holland will be held from 4-7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, on Tuesday, Jan. 1, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, and also 1 hour prior to services at church. Mass of Christian Burial for Tom Holland will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson, with Rev. Fr. John Gerritts officiating. Burial will take place at St. Patrick's Parish Cemetery in Hudson. Memorials are preferred to the family.
