Trudy Popenhagen is winner of Blakeman Award

Other local people and businesses also recognized at annual Chamber awards banquet

Trudy Popenhagen was the winner of the Marie Blakeman Award at the annual Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau banquet Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the YMCA-Camp St. Croix.

In addition, several local people and businesses were recognized at the event.

Other awards included the Community Volunteer of the Year given award to Katelyn Baier; the Chamber Member of the Year given to Kathy Newman, owner of Et Cetera; Large Business of the Year given to Christian Community Home and Executive Director Dan Goodier; Small Business

of the Year given to RJs Meats and Groceries owned by Anne and Rick Reams; and the Chamber's Ambassador of the Year Award given to Traci Leffner of Sylvan Learning.

The banquet also included the introduction of the 2013 Chamber Board Chair Jim Wookey of WESTconsin Credit Union. He took the reins from LouAnne Berg of J&L Steel and Electrical Services.
