Ronald C. Lagerstrom, 82, of Glenwood City, Wis., passed away peacefully March 3 at Glenhaven.
Ronald C. Lagerstrom, 82, of Glenwood City, Wis., passed away peacefully March 3 at Glenhaven.
Ron was born Sept. 15, 1930, in Glenwood City, to Andy and Vic (Jacobson) Lagerstrom. He graduated from Glenwood City High School in 1948 and served in the U. S. Army from 1951 to 1953. Ron was married to Jean Hildebrandt on Oct. 24, 1953, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Glenwood City. The marriage was blessed with three children: Chuck, Rhonda, and Ed.
Ron worked 37 years for the Chicago North Western Railroad as a signal maintainer, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including gardening, fishing, and especially deer hunting. He was an avid furniture refinisher and restored numerous family heirlooms. During his retirement, he enjoyed going to the family cabin near Webb Lake, Wis., where he would spend time with family, enjoy the grandkids, and catch a few fish.
Ron is survived by his wife, Jean; children, Chuck (Kim) Lagerstrom of River Falls, Rhonda (Reggie) Carlton of Spooner, and Ed (Julie) Lagerstrom of Edina, Minn.; eight grandchildren, Kyle Carlton of Manitowoc, Katy Carlton of Rice Lake, Colin Carlton of Spooner, Jill Lagerstrom of Hudson, Andrew Lagerstrom of Kansas City, Mo., Jack, Elizabeth, and George Lagerstrom of Edina; brother, Dean (Maxine) Lagerstrom of Darby, Mont.; and sister, Carol (Fred) Hunter of Ann Arbor, Mich.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Glenwood City with Rev Diane House officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood City. Friends may call at the Anderson Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, and 1 hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
