Hudson senior co-captains Kindra Witthus and Sarah Krier have both earned honorable mention to the 2012-13 All-Big Rivers Conference Girls Basketball Team.
It’s the fourth straight season Witthus has garnered All-BRC honorable mention accolades while Krier was honored for the first time.
Witthus led the Raiders in scoring with an average of 9.4 points per game this season. She also averaged 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and two steals a game while connecting on 67 percent of her free throw attempts.
Krier averaged nine points and five rebounds per game while leading the Raiders in steals with an average of 2.2 per contest. She also averaged one assist a game while hitting 69 percent of her free throws.
“These girls have been a pleasure to work with and will be missed; two of the hardest workers,” Raider head coach Joe Behnke said. “They definitely set a tone at practice and did a great job of being resilient leaders. I wish I had them for a few more years. They should be proud of the baseline they established this year for our program.”
The Raiders finished the 2012-13 season with a record of 7-17 overall, 4-8 and in fifth place in the BRC. They defeated Wausau East, 61-39, in the opening round of the WIAA regional playoffs before losing to Superior, 80-69, in the regional semifinals.
Superior advanced to the WIAA State Tournament and will play Milwaukee Riverside in a state semifinal game this Friday, March 15, at approximately 8:15 p.m. at the Resch Center in Green Bay.
