Hudson wrestlers win consolation round matches
Hudson's Austin Koski and Derek Schindler were victorious in their consolation round matches this morning at the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament at the Kohl Center.
MADISON - Hudson's Austin Koski and Derek Schindler were victorious in their consolation round matches this morning at the WIAA State Wrestling Tournament at the Kohl Center.
Koski defeated Holmen's Avery Hackett 5-3 at 145 pounds and Schindler shutout Avery Sweeney of Milton by a 6-0 score at 182.
Koski will wrestle Hartland Arrowhead senior Mitch Berenz (33-7) in the consolation semifinals this afternoon and Schindler faces Manitowoc senior Jonah Mrozinsky (41-7). Mrozinsky decisioned Levi Van Lanen 6-0 and Berenz pinned Mukwonago's Joe Mattson in :46 seconds
The winners will secure a spot on the awards podium and place in the state meet while the losers will be eliminated from competition.
