Milwaukee Bucks’ point guard Mo Williams is expected to make a full recovery by October, after having surgery Thursday on his right thumb.

He played most of this past season with ligament damage and did not miss any games as a result. Williams did miss 16 contests with other ailments.

He’s expected to rest the thumb for six weeks and then resume basketball activities while wearing a splint.

Coaches signed

Bucks’ General Manager John Hammond says contracts for four new assistant coaches may be finalized as early as today (Friday).

Coach Scott Skiles is expected to have his former assistant Jim Boylan on the bench along with former Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson, former Bucks’ player Joe Wolf, and former Memphis Grizzlies’ coach Lionel Hollins.

Hammond says all four have reached tentative agreements to join the staff. Skiles is also expected to keep player development assistant Bill Peterson, the only hold-over from former coach Larry Krystkowiak’s staff.
