Ben Olson III of Wisconsin Dells is trying to collect the signatures he needs to get on the ballot.
He wants to run in the Libertarian primary against Kevin Barrett, who’s best known for calling Sept. 11 an inside job while lecturing at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Olson appeared at a Libertarian barbeque in La Crosse Tuesday. He says the party should stand for minimal government and let people do what they want – as long as it doesn’t hurt others.
Olson takes issue with Barrett’s stands in favor of bolstering Social Security and creating universal health care.
Olson, 55, a bartender in Wisconsin Dells, says Barrett’s platform is not fully Libertarian.
The other candidate for the House seat is Republican Paul Stark of Eau Claire.
