A state lawmaker says spending cuts ordered by Gov. Jim Doyle are a "good start."
However, with Wisconsin facing a $3 billion budget deficit next year, state Rep Steve Nass, R-Whitewater, says even more cuts will need to be considered.
Nass says a 10 percent cut to state agencies will help to alleviate some of the pain, but we need to avoid an expected "tsunami" of tax and fee increases.
Nass says there's bipartisan blame for what he calls a "fiscal crisis," with legislators approving too much spending in the current state budget.
