Chris Duffy broke the tie in the eighth. His ground-out to second scored J. Hardy with the winning run.
Trevor Hoffman then pitched a perfect ninth for his third save.
Mitch Stetter got the win in relief, throwing a perfect eighth to go 1-0.
Prince Fielder and Mike Cameron homered for the Brewers who ended a two-game losing streak and split their four-game set with the Diamondbacks.
Arizona reliever Tom Gordon left in the sixth, after he injured his leg while covering the plate on a wild pitch.

The Diamondbacks lost only their second game in their last five and they blew a chance to win their first series in Milwaukee since 2003.
The Brewers improved to 13-12, and they closed out their seven-game home stand at 5-2.
