California’s output dropped 2.3 percent, as farmers there made just more than 3.4 billion pounds last month.

Wisconsin was the only one of the five top-producing states which had an increase.

The Badger State added 5,000 cows last month, and the average cow made 20 more pounds of milk than a year ago.
