NASCAR driver Matt Kenseth of Cambridge has made history at the Slinger Speedway near Milwaukee.
He became the first five-time winner in the 30 years of the Miller Lite Slinger Nationals.
The 200-lap race was delayed by rain on Tuesday and it resumed last night on the 19th lap, with Kenseth starting in 13th.
He quickly moved past Brad Mueller of Random Lake and they had a short battle before Kenseth took the lead for the final 96 laps.
Eric Fransen of West Bend had a late charge to finish second. Collin Bamke of Slinger, the leader when the rains came on Tuesday, dropped to 11th.
NASCAR’s Kyle Busch, who was second at the rainout, left Tuesday night and never returned.
Meanwhile, Kenseth’s son Ross, 16, won a 35-lap late-model under-card event at Slinger last night.
He said it was “awesome” that both he and his father were victorious.
