Authorities in Chippewa County are still investigating an incident in which a man was killed by a vehicle while lying on a highway.
According to sheriff’s deputies, a passerby saw Aaron Bourget, 28, of Boyd in the middle of County Trunk G near Chippewa Falls about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
The person called for help, and moved a short distance to get better reception on his cell phone.
But when the passerby returned, a vehicle had struck Bourget.
That driver stopped, and was later arrested for drunken driving and other possible charges.
