The National Weather Service now says 11 tornadoes touched down Aug. 19 in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area, including three in western Wisconsin.
One touched down about five miles southeast of Ellsworth in Pierce County.
Another twister was confirmed a mile northwest of Hudson in St. Croix County.
And the third tornado landed in the Emerald and Forest areas of St. Croix County.
The weather service said the storms knocked down trees, crops and vegetation. The most severe tornadoes were in Minnesota.
The highest winds were up to 100 mph from an EF-1 twister that caused damage in Cottage Grove, Minn. A twister in Minneapolis had a less fierce rotation but it also caused more damage.
