Burning leaves damage mobile home

River Falls Fire Chief Scott Nelson reported that at 4:58 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15, the River Falls Fire Department was dispatched to 403 Hwy 35, #40 for a reported mobile home fire.

River Falls Fire Chief Scott Nelson reported that at 4:58 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15, the River Falls Fire Department was dispatched to 403 Hwy 35, #40 for a reported mobile home fire.

On arrival, crews found smoke and some fire coming from underneath the structure. Firefighters removed some siding, skirting and decking material and were able to contain the fire to the underside of the home.

Hudson Fire assisted and River Falls Ambulance staged at the scene. The cause of the fire was determined to be from burning leaves that butted up against the home. There were no injuries. Damage was estimated at $5,000.
