Security is said to be getting tighter at military recruiting stations following the death of Osama bin Laden.

Brookfield Police Captain Jim Adlam told the Journal Sentinel’s “Brookfield Now” Web site that many recruiting stations have been threatened or vandalized in the wake of the killing of bin Laden. According to the Web site, a man with a Middle Eastern accent had suspicious questions for a recruiter in Brookfield last Wednesday night.

The man asked when the recruitment center is open, when the doors are locked, and what the duties are for the officers who work there. A police report said officers working at the center were told to stop wearing military uniforms to-and-from the building for safety reasons.

Adlam told “Brookfield Now” that the extra security efforts are precautionary – and they’re not the result of a single incident.
