Public's help sought in St. Joe equipment thefts

A 50 hp loader-equipped John Deere tractor, an implement and a cabbed ATV were recently stolen from a subdivision under construction near the Bass Lake Cheese Factory. The owners and St. Croix County Sheriff's Department would welcome a call from anyone who saw an older black pickup truck in the area that weekend.

AT&T expects Stageline area outage to be fixed by dinner hour

Thieves with a hacksaw whacked out a 20-foot segment of exposed telephone cable at a construction site on Hudson's east flank early Monday morning, knocking out telephone service to at least 200 homes east of the Stageline Center construction site. Service is expected to be restored by 6 p.m.

UPDATED: Menomonie woman named as victim of Sunday I-94 crash

A Menomonie woman died Sunday afternoon after her car traveled along the ditch side of a concrete abutment on I-94 just east of Hudson and overturned on a steep sidehill. The State Patrol says 83-year-old Evelyn Smith may have suffered a "significant medical event" prior to the accident.

Baldwin roll-over claims second life

The 14-year-old Minnesota girl who was traveling home from a Florida vacation with her mother and brother early Tuesday has died from injuries suffered when her mother's car overturned. The crash also claimed the life of her mother.
