Rick Reams, owner of RJ’s Fresh Meats in Hudson, traveled to Germany in early May hoping to enter some of his award-winning sausage and meat into international competition. His plan hit a snag -- custom officials in Germany wouldn’t let him take his meat across the border.

Lisa Wasson, wife of Hudson runner Dewain Wasson, said he was in a shower-type area near the finish line when the explosion occurred. “He heard the blasts, but it took a few minutes to figure out what was happening,” Lisa said.

Update -- Hudson Golf Course incident was result of accident

The Hudson Police Department has determined that the incident at the Hudson Golf Course Friday, that resulted in the injury of a 35-year-old man, was an accident.

The victim was suffering from a head injury. Hudson Police Chief Marty Jensen said the department is unsure if the incident was an accident or an assault.
