The death of the author of the children’s book “Where the Wild Things Are” got me thinking about the wild things in my own neighborhood. I arrived home from church on a recent Sunday to find a turkey perched on the deck railing.

Regular diners at the Dragon Pearl Chinese Restaurant will be happy to know that the new owners don’t plan to make any major changes. The entire staff that worked for John and Helen Kwok is still at the restaurant, the menu is the same, and the recipes are the same.
