"we" as in I live in the city, pay taxes, and live in the service area. Please read my first post regarding my comments not being a knock, my respect for the workers and service, and not putting a price on a life. Nope, I'm not an employee but the financing part obviously needs to be revisited or looked at.

It doesn't seem like "no more f." is a former employee as "Patrick H." is a CURRENT employee! "Question is, did we grow too fast too soon." WE huh? Patrick we don't want you to lose your job as much as you don't want to. Enough is enough though. I don't think the answer is to raise the per capita. We've never used the service why should we pay upfront. We'll pay when we need it!

Hey 'no more f', can I take a wild guess that you are either for former employee of SCEMS or maybe applied and didn't get hired for something? You make some pretty big claims here so I'm wondering if your an insider?

The city/ems commission needs to look into the managment of the service, it has been horribly mis-managed for years. It should be obvious at this point something is wrong, DO AN AUDIT of evrything, who is getting paid what, ect.... Funny how the EMS Chief/manager was unable to attend the meeting? The service is great, managment not great.

Tough issue, the level of service is excellent and the members are dedicated. Question is, did we grow too fast too soon. We've gone from EMT's, to paramedics in separate vehicles, and now people in squad cars. The days of "paid on call" EMS service are long gone, you pay for the level of service you get, however I would question when is "enough enough". And for you strong supporters of EMS and the responders this is not a knock against you, but something is obviously not right here looking at the dollars and cents. You cannot put a price on saving a life however sometimes you need to reconfigure the process.
