CC C, I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about, and your long-winded, but substanceless, diatribes certainly don't lend any creedence to any claims that you do.

The Unions have provided America with overpriced medical and education services. Driven up the price of medical care. Driven up the price of education. Minimum wages we implemented because of need, due to the union driven inflations. To bad another socialist program was voted in last night, the health care plan, during a depression. How do you think we will pay for this....we will take the money from the union employee who make more than we do. We will take it from the IRS employees who will be big brother to make sure we all have a government approved health care plan, because they will be getting paid SEIU union wages. This horrible catch 22 will only make everythng more expensive as we take back the wealth from people who get their wages from the taxpayers....... then add the fact we will need a federal consumer tax to pay for the Socialized plan. Share the wealth plan. Their are not enough ultra rich to keep Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and now big brothers "health plan" solvent, so they are going to come for your share. Now think about the teachers, with the new government run student loan program, which will decide which student goes to what school. Where does the govenment think they will get the money to loan? This also passed last night tucked into the health care bill. Back to unions why does a government employee need SEIU union? Is a government employee being treat unfairly by the government? Guess what America the government is broke, they borrow and add to our debt 43 cents for every dollar they spend, would this work in your households? Now add another entitlement "right" and the figure will increase. The agenda in Washington from only one side of the aisle is very clear. There is only one way to pay for the plan and that is with your wallet.....

cleat u.: Written like a true wage-slave. And PS: I hate unions, too. They helped bring about socialist/communist ideas like mininum wage scales, the five day work week, the forty-hour week and other travesties. Let's take back our country! Get rid of the commies!

You nailed it Cleat, I don't hate all teachers either, my kids have had some very good ones and a few bad ones. Teachers are in a closed shop, the WEAC comes knocking for dues when they are hired. The "union board" hires lobbyists and do a little policticking themselves. WEAC makes contributions to people running for office. We need to lessen the power and strength of the WEAC. See whats happening in the midwest with layoffs right now of public employees, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Kansas City closes half of its schools; districts in Illinois laying off or eliminating teaching positions due to lower enrollments. University of MN asking employees to take pay cut. Wisconsin hasn't been hit hard yet, but public employees are going to be in for a rough ride and unions will be fighting to keep what they have, salary increases are going to be out of the question and you can look for more furlough days. People who have come dependent on government services are going to be in for a rude awakening in all services they receive, not just education.

Great! Nothing much I like better than hating teachers ... these lazy babysitters don't work enough weeks per year like the rest of you wage-slaves.

Government employees lobbying the government for fair treatment, more money, guidance? Not logical.
