Hudson Star-Observer serving readers for 158 years

The Hudson Star-Observer holds the distinction of being the longest continually run business in Hudson and one of the oldest newspapers in the upper Mississippi Valley.

Hudson schools: A community priority

The Hudson School District provided instruction for more than 5,500 students in the area in the 2011-12 school year.

The outdoors: Parks, swimming, camping and more

The Hudson area sports many local parks, two county parks and two state parks. Each park offers something different -- from picnic areas, playgrounds, ball fields, camping, fishing, boating, hiking or simply a look at nature.

St. Croix County is business friendly

St. Croix County is business friendly for a number of reasons. First, in side-by-side comparisons of property tax, income tax and sales tax, Wisconsin comes out ahead when compared to Minnesota.

First St. Croix River bridge opened in 1913

For a period of 34 years the ample revenues from the toll bridge went into the city’s coffers for civic improvements and the more than popular reduction of real estate taxes. It was truly the “golden age” for local property owners.
