The Phipps Inn Bed and Breakfast, 1005 Third St., is a large and distinctive Queen Anne structure that was built in 1884 for William Phipps, a wealthy railroad official and lumberman. Adding yellow paint to the rock in front of The Phipps Inn are Networks Youth Ministries members Sarah Bauer, director Elliott Krizek, Christi Gratz, Phipps Inn co-owners Mary Ellen Cox and Audrey Oglesby. The youths also painted a rock in front of the Crossing Point building at the corner of Vine and Third streets which was built in 1977. It was purchased by the First Baptist Church, located across the intersection, and dedicated in 1989. The First Baptist Church was founded with 11 members in 1852 and dedicated the present sanctuary in 1866. Submitted photo
