Music therapy is different from regular music classes at Willow River Elementary. Teacher Tracy Johnson’s third- to fifth-grade students with autism regularly meet with music therapist Erin Shields from the MacPhail Center for Music. The sessions include relaxation techniques and learning to play handbells as well as social interaction and the importance of eye contact.
