Robert was born on April 2, 1928, in Wausau, Wis., the son of Harold and Alma (Moldrem) Wiesner. He was raised in Wausau, attending school prior to enlisting in the Armed Forces, serving in the United States Navy during World War II.

Upon his return, he would meet and marry the former Dorene Rae McKee on April 10, 1953, in Chippewa Falls. This union would be blessed with seven children.

Robert worked for Univac – Sperry Corporation, which evolved into the Unisys Corporation in the Twin Cities. He worked in their inventory department overseeing ordering and parts.

Following retirement at the age of 63, he took up the craft of working with leather. He made wallets or belts and gave them to family and friends. His greatest passion outside his family and grandchildren was fishing! He knew all the fishing holes around Chippewa Falls before moving later in life to Hudson.
