Eleanor Zezza, 82

Eleanor Zezza, age 82 of Blaine, formerly Hudson died Aug. 6, 2009, at Unity Hospital in Fridley. Eleanor was born on March 19, 1927, in Hudson, the daughter of Earl and Lois (Karnes) Wilcox. Being raised in Hudson, she attended school here graduating from Hudson High School in 1945.

Eleanor Zezza, age 82 of Blaine, formerly Hudson died Aug. 6, 2009, at Unity Hospital in Fridley.

Eleanor was born on March 19, 1927, in Hudson, the daughter of Earl and Lois (Karnes) Wilcox. Being raised in Hudson, she attended school here graduating from Hudson High School in 1945.

On Oct. 5, 1946, she was united in marriage to Dennis John “Jack” Zezza. She loved cooking and serving others. She and Jack were in the restaurant business for many years. While living in Hudson, they owned and operated the Hudson Harbor before moving to Texas and running another restaurant. Besides her Italian cooking, she was a Yahtzee queen. She loved a good game of dice, but more importantly, spending time with her friends. She even named her dog, Yahtzee!

Eleanor is survived by her children Bob (Rose) Zezza of Crystal, Minn., and their children Bobbi and Dan; Jack (Becky) Zezza of Oak Grove, Minn., and their children Keena and Amy; Nancy Zezza of Naples, Fla., and her children Travis and Justin; Denise (Michael) Halveren of Las Vegas, Nev. and their children Alan and Mike Jr.; sister Lois Kitchens, of Phoenix, Ariz. brother Don Wilcox of Phoenix, Ariz. and sister-in-law Barbara Smrdel of River Falls. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Lois (Karnes) Wilcox, husband, siblings Mary Bartlett, Lorene “Rene” Bredehl, Dorothy Dougherty, and Vernice McClead.

A Time to reflect on the life of Eleanor Zezza will be Monday from 3-5 p.m. at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, Hudson, with a prayer service to follow by Fr. William Brenna officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Funeral services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home.
