Janet Josephine Johnson, 90, longtime resident of Richfield, Minn., and current resident of the Christian Community Home in Hudson, passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at the Hudson Hospital from pneumonia.
Janet Josephine Johnson, 90, longtime resident of Richfield, Minn., and current resident of the Christian Community Home in Hudson, passed away peacefully Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at the Hudson Hospital from pneumonia.
She was born the daughter of John B. and Petronelia “Nellie” Johnson on Jan. 3, 1919, in Minneapolis.
Janet was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran and was employed by the Minneapolis Veterans Administration Hospital as a cancer research technician. She enjoyed golfing, biking, gardening and time spent with her extended family.
Janet is survived by her sister, Jean (Jim) Loeffler of St. Louis Park, Minn.; nephew and guardian Jim (Pam) Loeffler of North Hudson, Wis., and their children, Teresa Holmes (and her children Blake and Ashlee), and Jeff (Valerie) Loeffler; niece, Susan (Tom) Schwartz of Apple Valley, Minn., and their daughters, Jennifer Corniea and Sara Schwartz; and nephew, Gary Loeffler of Richfield, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A graveside service with full military honors will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Services were entrusted to O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson and Countryside Crematory.
